GoKart rode shotgun with Rick Kupchella, Minnesota’s own award-winning journalistic vet, to create a fresh perspective on the news — BringMeTheNews.com. As the paperboy’s bag gets lighter and the network anchors stare into empty living rooms, we are breaking new news ground. Innovation abounds as Rick and his team engaged GoKart to design and develop a new user experience, blowing out the traditional online news sites with a design that's not jammed up with irrelevant advertising, dancing insurance shills and moving banners. The technology behind the site is also a new twist on an old theme. Using an open-source base, GoKart finely tuned the News Engine so the media team could easily add credible, relevant, contextual news - aggregated from multiple sources AND assembling them in our very own "NewsStack" framework. The NewsStacks are a mash-up of multiple stories related to a single topic, including BMTN's own narrative - all available for commentary via social networks.
GoKart's involvement didn't begin, nor does it stop at the design and development of the site. We worked extensively with Rick on the business model and took a traditional view of media / sponsorships & advertising and flipped it on its lid. Our very own Rob Rosen co-anchored the media negotiations with our sponsors, developing a new model for corporations to contribute their own news-worthy content within a contained "CorporateStack". Roll all of this up with online AND on-air radio exposure on Cities 97, KOOL 108, KFAN... and BMTN sponsors are seeing tremendous value. BringMeTheNews.com is truly an example of how GoKart builds the ride and takes it from the green flag to the checker.
Stay tuned as BringMeTheNews continues to make real, big news.
